The Contrarian |

From my experience in investing, I have learned that markets do change over time. However, the psychology of the investor remains the same. Throughout time, investors have usually bought and sold at the wrong time due to their emotions of fear and greed. As a contrarian, I measure and quantify the fear and greed in the marketplace. When the fear has reached an extreme, I go long. When the greed has reached an extreme, I go short. I have backtested this theory and have implemented it into the portfolio management of my clients.
